Lobby or reception in Aparthotel Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta

Great location, easy bus ride from the train station. We were upgraded to a bigger room at no charge upon arrival. Everything you need is provided. Wonderful coffee shop nearby call Moko. Look it up, it's a must try! This is an eco conscious property. Staff is very friendly and accomodating.

We stayed here for four nights before heading off to our biking tour in the Dordogne region. The hotel was easy to access from the airport – take the A Tram right outside the airport and get off at the Gambetta Tram stop. The hotel is just on the other side of the shopping complex, less than a five minute walk away. Arriving at 9am, we were told that our room would not be ready until 3pm. Staff at reception were helpful but their English limited, depending on who was on duty. We are bilingual so this did not affect us but other guests struggled to be understood. After storing our bags, we headed out to explore. Once we checked in, we were informed that we were ungraded to a larger room. Our room was well appointed and functional, although I found it odd that the toilet was located outside the bathroom, on the other side of the room, without any hand washing area. The kitchen area was well equipped, but we only prepared our breakfasts and snacks. My husband did partake in the in house breakfast buffet which he found under whelming, the food was cold, selection limited and an altogether poor value for 14E. The area is surrounded by numerous restaurants of all different price points and there is a large supermarket in the mall right down the street. The bed was comfortable as was our sleep. Our room faced a small square. There is a screen that separates the sleeping area from the living/kitchen area should your partner wish to stay up. Our bathroom had a shower that was separate from the tub. My major complaint that only one towel was provided per person and you had to pay extra to have them changed or your room cleaned. Most days we just explored Bordeaux on foot which was easy to do. The hotel is very well located. The trams were affordable and easily accessed. We also went to St. Emilion one day to explore and visit a few wineries. As an aside, entrance to museums is free on the first Sunday of each month, but generally.

The location is fantastic! Right in the city centre and approx. 10-15min to the River Garonne. Access to lots of restaurants, shops and there's a shopping mall right across from the hotel. The TBM bus #1 from the airport drops you right at the hotel - this was a great bonus & the stop to get the bus to the airport is a 5min walk from the hotel. We requested an early check in which the hotel provided as we had an early flight in - this was great as we managed to rest before heading out for a whole day of touring. The Quinconces tram station is close by making it easy to access sites such as the Cite du Vin. We did a walking tour of the city (Voicemap) and we could walk to all the sites from the hotel which was awesome as we had a one day trip & we managed to do loads thanks to the hotel location. The staff were really friendly especially the lovely ladies at the reception in the evening on 23rd Feb - they were super helpful & gave us great recommendations for restaurants - Peppone is a must try when in Bordeaux - never imagined I'd enjoy Italian food in France but hey :-) it was awesome! The hotel room was clean & convenient as it has a kitchenette so you can prepare meals / tea / breakfast or heat your meals / leftovers in the microwave. There's also a gym, steam room / hammam - though we didn't get to use this as we had a short stay. If you have a short trip to Bordeaux this hotel is a must - it will save you lots of time thanks to the ease of access of all the main spots.

The room was clean and bed very comfortable also the kitchenette had everything we needed to make breakfast and lunch and was well equipped. The hotel breakfast was adequate we enjoyed toast cereal yoghurt and fruit. The location of the hotel is fantastic being a short walk to the tram stop and is an efficient way to move around the city. You will also find shopping and wonderful restaurants are only a short walk. The staff on reception were friendly helpful and offered suggestions for things to do which we appreciated and made our experience of Bordeaux even better than we expected. We love Bordeaux and hope to return one day.

When first considering several properties, I thought this might be out of the center. Turns out it's in the center. And right on the edge of the UNESCO World Heritage part of the city. It's the best of both worlds -- modern, updated and quiet as it is not near any wine or other bars or nightclubs. But Gambetta is a great area, flush with hip restaurants, wine bars and grocery stores. One of the tram lines is 5 minutes away in one direction the large, efficient, circulates very frequently G bus connected from historic Saint Jean train station, where I arrived from Paris. Front desk staff was excellent about giving tips on shopping/dining. It also complied with my standard request to get the room farthest from the elevator an to have an extra flat sheet in the room. I certainly used the coffee maker, as well as the fridge to store leftover gourmet food -- and the stove and microwave to reheat said food. St. Catherine Street -- billed as the longest pedestrian shopping street in all of Europe, is footsteps away. Garonne River, muddy but the spine of the city for centuries, is 10-12 minutes walk away, as is the famous Place de la Bourse with its giant reflecting pond and wondrous architecture. Bordeaux is a great city. Pound for pound, some of the best gastronomy and wine in all of France...or the world for that matter. Code 23, a fabulous bar with live music and a cozy vibe, is less than 15 minutes walk from the property. Le Petit Commerce, one of the greatest, most unpretentious seafood houses in all of the region, is 15 minutes walk away. Boulangerie Jocteur, an outstanding bakery, is a brisk 5 minute walk from the hotel. Chartrons and its great homes and bistro is 15 minutes by tram. Cite du Vin is less than 25 minutes by tram. Bassins des Lumières, in a WWII submarine bunker also to the north of town, is less than 45 minutes by public transit.

Breakfast in Aparthotel Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta

Would we go back to this hotel? Absolutely! A lovely, light, airy modern room so close to the centre of this amazing city. Kitchenette means you can prepare simple food if you are too tired to go out, or have special dietary needs. There is a great breakfast buffet. There's a giant Auchan hypermarket across the road for all kinds of food & wine, and smaller shops close by too. Very close to the cathedral and Musée des Beaux Arts, which is very good, and not too huge. Private car park underneath the hotel (at cost).

The location was absolutely perfect!! You can either park right under the building ( but you have to reserve first ) or if you are like us that didn't know about the parking garage you can park in garage gambetta which is literally 30 seconds walk from the building. This aparthotel building is a 3 mins walk from the city center ( old town ) places with ALL the shopping and restaurants. Walking distances to a lot of historical landmark or if you are lazy to walk take a hop on hop off bus which the bus stop is also 2 mins away. Room is big and clean and the staffs are very friendly and helpful

Restaurant/places to eat in Aparthotel Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta

Due to my previous booking cancelling on me at short notice, I booked this rather last minute, whilst already on holiday. I think it was actually better than my original booking! We rang at noon to reserve a parking space and given good instructions (as a bit complicated) for our parking spot. Very secure as had to use pass codes. The reception staff were great. The apartment was well equipped apart from a sieve to strain the rice (a very minor detail). A large supermarket was nearby for supplies. Very comfortable and a short walk into Bordeaux. Requested a quiet room to the back, which we got. Bonus - the TV had an English news channel!

Good location just outside the historic centre of Bordeaux, a short walk to the Porte Dijeaux, Musée des Beaux-Arts, and the Cathédrale Saint-André. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and equipped with a full kitchen and lovely bathroom. The layout was funky with some items on wheels, including the desk, kitchen cabinet, TV stand, as well as 3 pull-out screens to divide the bedroom/bathroom area from the kitchen/eating area.

Breakfast in Aparthotel Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta

The location is ideal, just a short walk from the old town with bus stops virtually outside the hotel and tram stops just a few minutes' walk away. There's a huge Auchan supermarket in the Meriadeck Shopping Centre around the corner, a boulangerie across the square from the hotel and a branch of Picard next door. The A tram took us from outside the terminal at Bordeaux Airport to within a few minutes' walk of the aparthotel. Our spacious room consisted of seating and dining areas, a well-equipped kitchenette with a good sized-fridge, a dishwasher, a stovetop and a microwave, a sleeping area with plenty of storage, good lighting and a large comfortable bed, and a good bath-sized bathroom with a walk-in shower and a full-sized bath, plus a separate toilet. Everything was in good repair, was spotlessly clean and worked well. Our room was located on the 5th floor and had a long balcony overlooking a tree-lined inner courtyard. It was very quiet and we slept well. Check in and out was very efficient and friendly. Housekeeping is only included in the hotel rate for stays of 7 nights or more, and can otherwise be requested for an additional payment. We had no problem with the lack of housekeeping as we enjoy our privacy and also prefer to clean up after ourselves (there was a room with trash bins on the ground floor and a supply of new rubbish bags available on request from reception). Our room-only rate was great value and we would happily stay in Adagio Bordeaux Centre Gambetta again.
